not sure if this is the right place to put this, but i self harmed a lot a couple years back, and i have recently started doing it a lot. I want to know how you guys overcame self harm and also what you learned from it. Also, any tips?

There are so-called "scar creams" that you can use for the first time to get rid of your scars. . .
And to overcome the pressure of your self-harm you can use "skills". . . have a look around on the internet, it's not the same as using a blade but it can also be liberating and doesn't leave scars

The recovery section has many resources and the people who hang out there are likely going to have more insight into it. I know there are recovered self harmers on this side, but unfortunately many of us are still active and don't have a clue how to stop ourselves.

I'm not "recovered" yet (although I've got to stop completely since I have a doctor's appointment soon), but do have a suggestion: do something else that can give you a hit of dopamine, like having sex. And if you don't have a partner, try masturbation. Seriously, do that before you SH and see if that lowers or stops the urge.
