I always thought I would never talk about that on here. Too personal but I ran out of topics and I think my advice is pretty good.

I take antidepressants and antipsychotics. I spend some years without antipsychotics in extreme mental pain because I did not want to have erectile dysfunction/being impotent. I Was really suicidal because of that.

Later I realized it is not the end of the World and the take of David Foster Wallace helped. So then I accepted it. After some time it got better but only a little bit.

I met a woman some months ago and she Was really into Sex. (sadly we did not sleep together eventually but did a lot sexual things otherwise).

I knew that Wellbutrin/Elontril/Bupropion can be used to counter erectile Dysfunction for example when used off-label. And I tried it it is true. It helps a lot. But I got really agitated so I could not take it. Then I took trazodone. Also an antidepressant that counters ED. I got nightmares but my solution is that I take at the morning which is really unusual but I do not get sleepy by it in a low dosage. This decreased the ED a lot.

I thought well it is good but not perfect. Some months ago I wanted to try busp/buspiron I had to wait a lot to get it. It is a medication against anxiety. And this was the primary reason I wanted it. But I knew that for many it has positive sexual side effects. It barely helps against my anxiety. It does not have any side effects except that my ED fully vanished. I think I am now probably more potent than without these medication. Lol. It feels good. I never should have been that stupid to reject medication because of Such a reason. All my therapists downplayed it. My psychiatrist did not even know about the off-label usage of these medication. Well Internet research helped me a lot. And I hope I can help some of you with this personal post.

I think my libido is lower than before taking these medication but I started to take them with 18. I cannot really compare. I think though that my sex drive is pretty high, because of regular "sexual activity". Sadly most of them time alone but with the one woman I dated I had some sexual experiences and these medication really helped.

There were medication that even increased my libido but deteriorated my orgasms and that's not worth it. I tried more than 30 different medication from different companies and side effects can vary from Company to Company. And when you hear in the news that German health insurances accumulate a lot of debts you know why. Lmao. But I don't give a fuck.

The worst sexual side effects I had Was lamotrigine. I barely felt anything. But I read that for many women it increases sexual pleasure and libido.

I think after Making some sexual experiences I am now more confident to talk about it. And even when many guys claim they never had Issues with that I hope my thread might help some silent sufferers.

My meds has pretty much destroyed my libido, so yeah. It is quite common side effect.

Yes many. Ziprasidone (Antipsychotic), Amitriptylin (antidepressant), Trazodone (off-label/antidepressant), busp/buspiron (the idea Was helping with my anxiety but it only helps against ED, but I keep it lol). From time to time I take the sleep medication zopiclone.

But I have absolutely no problems anymore with ED. As I said I think I am now even more potent than without all of these medication.

Thanks for sharing this, I'm glad things have improved <3
I can somewhat relate, although maybe for different reasons and meds.
Putting it in a spoiler, some people might not care or want to hear about it.
I was switched to Venlafaxine, which I think is an SNRI. I still have problems getting an erection, could be due to my mood or childhood trauma. However I've noticed that switching from Sertraline to Venlafaxine, it takes me just 2 minutes to orgasm and I feel incredibly impulsive and suicidal afterwards. Again it might be trauma. The only other thing I've noticed about being on Venlafaxine is that I just cry so so much, it's easier to get to that heightened state of anxiety and tearfulness.
