Discussion how deep are your arteries?

i could just google this but i already googled how quick you bleed out from them today and since i almost got sectioned the other day (had a bit of a psychotic episode from probably too much meth or some weird combo i did idk i dont remember lmao) i'm kinda paranoid plus i thought i might get a better more relevant answer here so is it actually possible to sever one intentionally with say a razor blade or something? i know the femoral is probably too deep but i was thinking maybe it's possible to reach the carotid? or maybe another one i missed while researching lol.

(i only really need to know this cus i lost my SN which was my plan and even though i'm not like actively suicidal currently it still stresses me out if i dont have a plan. plus i can't buy more because like after the aforementioned episode i now don't have direct access to my money so i need an alternate plan, and i know they wont take my blades from me and they cant hide every sharp thing in the house lol. my parents are somewhat understanding and i explained how taking away my easy self harm tools will just lead me to use more dangerous things to do it, plus if they do i'll just say i wanna go shopping and they'll like give me some money and i can just walk down and buy more.)

The simple answer is: probably too deep. Know this from experience. Tried slashing one in the past (I was pretty confident, since my uni course includes anatomy), thought I had definitely gone deep enough. Of course I hadn't, otherwise wouldn't be here typing this...
Basically: even if you're rly informed, and you think you're mentally prepared to do it, it almost never goes right, and you'll just end up in the hospital for the night and a huge scar for life. I rly do advise against it.

i thought that might be the case, lowkey kinda just wanted someone to confirm it lol. and ye i'd really rather not have to go into hospital for that for like basically the second time (well first time wasnt intended as anything but i did accidentally hit beans on my thigh, while in vc with the guy i like no less lmao, and had to go in for stitches cus it was bleeding fucking everywhere)
