I'm really embarrassed to talk about this and I think it's logical, it's been eating away at me for a year now. Have you ever been threatened with having your photos or videos published?

No but I've been traumatised by a landlord finding out about my profile online on which I had nude photos because he was also using those websites with his buddies and one of them found me then talked about it with the landlord. I got kicked out and made fun of until I found out he's not innocent and was seeing people behind his wife's back, he got off my back then but it still gave me trauma, paranoia and worsened my drug addiction

Yeah if you don't care then the blackmail is useless

Yeah, had someone blackmail me saying they'll send my nudes to my parents, in my case they wanted money and favors, but at some point enough is enough and I stopped caring and they kind of just left me alone.

Hey so it hasnt happen to me, but if this can help, most of the time when someone treatens you whit nudes or something like that they really dont have it and just ignoring it its the best option, if you have reason to believe they actually have those, the best thing to do is contact whit the support of all the social media you use and tell them that you are being treaten, they will take those picture and make sure to block them before anyone could ever share it. even that doesnt mean those photos wont be shared, but their reach would be very limited, after maybe try reporting to your cybercrime authority and maybe theyll track it. the worst option is usually to give to their demands because like any abusive relationship it will only get worse until it explodes. Im very sorry that something so awfull is happening to you hope all truns all right

I'm sorry that you're experiencing this; there are a lot of shitty people out there. I think it's called 'revenge porn'. I'm unsure what to do, but I'm sure some options exist. Did you receive a private message, or did it seem like a hoax email?

Hindsight is a bitch, but one piece of advice I can give is if you're taking pics/vids of that stuff, then don't show your face or anything that could identify you in the photo, such as a tattoo or birthmark.

really terrible of them, but now with AI and all, the photos/vids can be easily falsified anyway so you can claim it's a deepfake

Yes, my ex boyfriend had sexual but not nude pictures/videos of me (some recorded without my consent), and he messaged me a few times mocking me for having them and also threatening to show it to others. I think it was some sick power play for him because he didn't want to be in a relationship with me and nor did I. He stopped after I got together with my long-term boyfriend, but then began again about how he had already showed it all to people from our old friend group, and it got me so paranoid and terrible that I made my long-term boyfriend block all of them, even though he hadn't talked with them in years. I never told any of this to my long-term boyfriend because I was so embarrassed by it, and I still am. I feel deeply, deeply ashamed to my core and it burns my heart. I still think about it sometimes at night, if he still has them on his phone. I hate myself deeply because I succumbed to his pressuring and went against my ideals because I was so afraid of being left alone.

I know how you feel, it's horrible to feel that way. I started to hate my own body because of it. People who do these things are terribly screwed.

The truth is that I'm always on the alert regarding this, thank God nothing has happened, but it also makes me very nervous. And well, I already filed a complaint and there is already a law that punishes digital violence. But unfortunately the case has not been pursued for months, sometimes I think they have forgotten about me, I hope not.

You have a point, there's been a lot of news about that lately. It's still unpleasant though.

Not the exact same thing, but I've been mentally unstable and posted identifiable stuff that I've not been able to remove. Quite horrible to know that if anyone looks in the wrong spot there's horrible, immoral, and cringy stuff openly available from a period of mental instability. Best regards and sending compassion.
