When I decided to try partially hanging myself with a chair and a closet rod, it took a few seconds for everything to turn grey. It is a miracle that I woke back up. I shouldn't even be here right now.
Instead of sitting on the internet and complaining about how impossible suicide is and promoting obscure chemicals nobody has ever heard of, why don't you guys just hang?
It's easy, quiet and virtually painless.
I'm not encouraging suicide, so please don't ban me, but...easy way out!

Tried partial hanging too many times to count and full suspension hanging once. I couldn't go unconscious that easily and kept backing out. If I choose to take SN, there's no way back, I'm not going to save myself. But that is also why I don't take it. Hanging isn't easy for everyone though.

I think it's different for everyone, i tried it and I couldn't do it, as you're conscious and in pain before you life fly away from your body.

i would tbh, like i would prefer just drugs that'll make me ctb because it changes you less physically for the most part, besides skin discoloration from SN i believe. seeing pictures of hanging aftermaths makes me not want to do it as much, as the least i could do for those who care about me is look at least slightly nice when they find me. but it's def an option, how you described it is how i feel standing up too quick on a daily basis, so maybe it wouldnt be too uncomfortable, but i would worry about feeling the immense amount of pressure build up in my head if i don't pass out fast enough. not sure what a partial hanging is, i'll have to look into that

if i did hang myself, i would set myself up and snort ket until i k-hole, then going limp and the rope will do the rest. avoids the part i get anxious about, being awake too long during it

I disagree. Hanging is really hard. Plus, you are here right now which means it wasn't so easy.

Partial hanging usually leads to waking up and somehow staying alive. That's the reason people are trying partials over and over and usually not successful. But yeah, if you hit your carotid arteries right then passing out can happen quickly and out of nowhere but your body can find it's way back which is what sounds what like may have happened to you. Lot's of people have cut off their carotid arteries in a partial but then have a hard time doing it consistently as well.

When you realize you are capable of a partial then it is about setting yourself up for a situation where you will be successful and that becomes a hard process as well. Most people don't want to let go of the possible bail-out tools that they keep handy in case they change their mind.

I'm in the thought process that partials are hard to make successful. If I was to CTB via hanging, I don't think a partial would do it, I believe I would have to kick the chair out completely dangling otherwise I'd wake back up or find a way to survive.

The question becomes for me, could I actually kick the chair out. And that's another hard part, the hardest part.

Do you have a bruise on your neck from partial hanging? The one thing that's holding me back from trying is potentially surviving and getting ligature marks.

I did but it was easy to cover with some makeup and only took a few day to disappear

Everyone's body and mind works very differently. I've attempted partial hanging multiple times and for me it its very hard to pass out and horribly painful. During my last attempt i bruised my throat so bad while trying i had to wear a scarf everywhere because of the bruising.
not to mention SI can be very strong once your brain realizes youre not just doing this for hanging practice but doing it for real.
Suicide will never be easy nor will any attempt.

That was pretty much my experience. I don't remember the attempt that almost worked, but I do remember the attempts I aborted. I felt dizzy and my vision blurred out almost immediately after applying pressure. I'm not particularly heavy, but I used the vast majority of my body weight to apply pressure. I wouldn't call it pleasant, but it didn't hurt.

As for the close(ish) call, I don't remember blacking out, but I do remember waking up. I was disoriented and dreaming as if I were asleep, but I didn't recall going to bed. When I opened my eyes I found myself drooling and that I had wet myself. I had a slight headache, and my neck really, really hurt. Despite that, I was panting and paradoxically felt great.

I do still have a bit of bruising and discoloration on my neck about six weeks later, but no one's ever noticed or if they have they've been too polite to say anything about it. It helps to take a step back and realize that most strangers are either oblivious or don't care.

I've chickened out of FSH like five times. Can't even count how many partial. After some signs of blood cutoff recently (euphoria rush, tingling hands) I became optimistic about a partial hanging in my closet. But I know it's extremely difficult. I wish OP were right. But strangling yourself to death is hard.

I agree. Hanging is still one of the easiest ways to lull yourself.

As someone who plans to CTB by FSH, I can agree that hanging is, in theory, easier to obtain the supplies for since it requires a good rope (something you can get at any hardware store near you), but it is very easy to mess up

Unlike SN, which tends to be a one size fits most method, hanging heavily relies on your fat composition, weight, and height. What would be a viable anchor point for one person wouldn't be for another due to the change in weight and/or height. Additionally, how fast you'll be knocked out heavily relies on the fat in your neck from what I've seen in other threads about it. The logic goes that, if there's more fat cushioning your arteries, it'll naturally take longer for you to not feel the pain

Plus, different people are averse to different things. Some people find death by SN more mentally tolerable whereas others prefer hanging (whether partial or full). It's best for people to choose which method is more tolerable to them since, before anything, reduction of SI is important. Otherwise, the hesitation may cause you to mess up
