I had one hell of a weekend. I'm now entering my slutty psycho bpd bitch era!!!

If my life was actually fucked up like I thought it was, maybe I'd consider suicide still. But knowing that it's all probably just because of a personality disorder means I know I should be working towards recovery. So I'm gonna give dbt a shot.

I guess what I really want to say is that it's such a huge relief finally knowing what's wrong with me. My life isn't just fucked up for no reason. There's an explanation, and there's a real solution. I've been looking for this reason my whole life - I've self-diagnosed with autism, adhd, depression, bipolar, cyclothymia, OCD (specifically trans/cisOCD), just about everything, searching for an identity. Which by the way, is a huge flag for BPD.

I have a formal psychiatric assessment in three weeks to confirm this diagnosis. I'm thinking it's gonna be a dual autism/BPD diagnosis. I'm fucked in the head :3 plus I have tourettes so I'm illnessmaxxing.

Anyone else here have BPD? How did your life change after getting diagnosed?

i'm glad you are out of the vacation and are finding strength and closure in the diagnosis, you should keep hold of that. Now you can put all those things you don't like in the BPD box.

My life went to shit, personally, I crashed out hard lmao. Reading this gives me a little hope though.

I don't have the same diagnosis, but I had a similar grippy sock vacation recently and really appreciate your humor and writing style about it ☺️

I hope you can find some relief now in having your diagnosis and having a sense of direction through starting dbt.

Good luck! You got this!

grippy socks is such a funny phrase!

Almost makes up for the fact that it means hell on Earth.

I had the same experience with being diagnosed with BPD. My life is, well, bad enough to be on SaSu, but I met several others from the psych ward with BPD whose lives are improving.

I actually get treated quite poorly by people in the medical field because of the diagnosis. I noticed an immediate change even in the ward afterwards, including by people who stressed the importance of not discriminating.

Trans/cis OCD. My nightmare. Still not willing/able to crack into that bag of bones. Glad you're sorting things out, even if they're heavy, cumbersome things.

I have BPD and Pure-O OCD. I am 37 years old. It's a LONG journey! A marathon. The key is regulation, regulation, regulation. Every. Single. Day! No I can't go out and stay late night to midnight or 1am, even if its once or twice a month. No I can't casually drink alcohol or smoke pot. No I can't try to take up too many big social activities or endevours. I have to constantly stabilize, stabilize, stabilize. Yoga meditation baths cooking end up taking the most of my focus. And I really love it too. My BPD forced me to a live a better, happier, stable life. It's going to be hard for a while but it's managable and life can be enjoyable but you gotta continue to ground and stabilize... emotional regulation.
