+200 from few days ago. where is it coming from?

I assume you mean guest count

currently there are about 200 members online and about 700 guests viewing the forum

which is a larger number than usual from what I've seen usually I think it's about 200 - 300 members online while there are 400 - 600 or so guests

I'm curious to know where they are coming from as well

It counts all unique IPs entering the forum for up to one hour after leaving the site. So the number doesn't accurately display all active viewers of the forum. Unsure as to why there's an influx of guests.

does guest count alter ss search index/popularity? if does then i am worried...

Yeah, its currently at
Total: 1,077 (members: 236, guests: 841)
which is a bigger ratio than usual.
