Fear of death holds me back

Hi,
I want to commit suicide and I have the method in mind. I want to be dead, but actually dying scares me.
I wonder how I can get rid of this fear to be able to finally kill myself.

You are human being. That is perfectly normal to feel. I have additional fear of scarring and destroying lives of my parents.

Going against our natural will to live is a hell of a thing and the fear associated with that is natural. I understand completely what your going through because I am in the same position. I have conditioned myself lately to have a loaded firearm to my head with pressure on the trigger but that last push is not easy hence why I am posting. Whatever you decide to do please research it so you don't suffer more then you already are and I also found that researching a preferred method has eased the fear somewhat but thats just me.

Definitely, I feel the same. Both suicide and even the prospect of dying naturally scares me. All the unknowns. With suicide though, a major fear for me is failing an attempt and coming out with worse consequences.

I can't stand the sadness, the emptyness and the absurdity of being alive when I don't find any sense to it anymore.
I red about the night night method on this forum, and it seems a peaceful way to go.

Hurting the people I love is another thing that holds me back. I am waiting this idea to be less unbearable that being alive.

I feel you both, the idea of horrible consequences of a failing attempt paralyses me.
But what do you mean by planning? I red a lot here about experiences before real attempts. How can people have the bravery to try methods before a real attempt?

This method was appealing to me until I red how easy it is to miss and hurt yourself very bad instead of dying, and just make it worst. However it is not easy to get a firearm in my country, so I let down this fantasy of mine. I am not putting down nor judging your choice by the way.

I am lucky and glad to have people in my surrounding I can talk to about all that, but however, they can't totally relate, and therefore I can't tell them how close I am to kill myself.
I feel a bit released posting here.
