I'm probably gonna follow through with my plan to CTB on new years (or at the very least try, since partial hanging relies on your weight more than anything, you can kinda just stand up if you come to some kind of realization or something). I plan to use a cord from a heating pad (I have alternatives just in case) and will tie it to my closet bar. I'll locate my carotid artery and place it there, then kneel down and push down my head.

I want to know other people's experiences with using a similar method, whether you failed, backed out, or if you know someone who succeeded. I'd like to know what to expect, what it felt like, if you had anything you wish you'd done differently, etc. any tips to reduce crushing my trachea & causing severe pain would be appreciated. Also, if you backed out or failed without hospitalization, how did you hide the mark (if there was one)? Thank you!

as a person who backed out or failed many times, luckily I didn't have a very visible mark (using a belt and a quite thin rope) but if you do, I'd recommend make-up or simply wearing a scarf, maybe fakin a cold along the way, as this is what I planned to do if there was one left:)

I've tried before after I got really sad and drank 1/2 a bottle of vodka. It was very uncomfortable despite being drunk so I backed out. I used a leather belt attached to a high shelf in my kitchen. I had to use my feet to get the stool back so I could take the belt off, it was an awful experience all the way around. I'm sure there's a more proper way to do it, but this method isn't for me. It left a mark but I live an isolated life, so it wasn't a big deal.

It can also be a bit loud and disruptive, so keep that in mind. Back when I was a kid I watched someone hang themselves from a basketball hoop and they thrashed around violently in the beginning. Not sure if it's the same with partial suspension.

I tried partial by kneeling and leaning forward to put pressure on the rope. I used a 12mm mooring line anchored to a steel beam. I wrapped a washcloth around the part of the loop that would be at the front of my neck for padding and put the knot at the back of my neck.

I positioned the loop so that it would not constrict as long as I sat all the way up on my knees, but as soon as I leaned forward or let my weight sag, it would start constricting. To find the correct position, I would lean forward to see if I could block my arteries. If I felt any pain, I would sit back up and readjust the rope. After a few tries, I hit the sweet spot and managed to lean forward without any pain. I felt dizziness and noticed my hearing fading out, and then I blacked out. I do not know how long I was out. I just remember suddenly snapping to and realized that I was sitting up straight, so my body had rightened itself while I was unconscious.

I've only tired a few times. Belt over top of doorway seemed like it should have worked. It held my weight I just couldn't pass out. Maybe I should try again with a rope.
Overall it's weird bcs many celebrities have done this but it seems like everyone on here just has failure after failure

Practicing partial quite often and made my vision go dark pretty quickly.

I wish that I have proper rope, since I use a power cord. It's not bad, but it doesn't tight well.

I guess it's probably survivorship bias, if one were to not fail, they wouldn't be posting about it. I wish there was a way to ask those who succeeded how it went for them...
