• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

how do people pretend like nothing's wrong in the world? everyone sees horrendous things on the news, but when it's not happening to them, they can just say 'things happen'. everybody hates their jobs but finds the concept of a corrupt government laughable and dystopian. it feels like everyone is ignorant, dumb or uncaring and the people who aren't, who think 'too much', are usually depressed & suicidal. our world has reached the point where just existing in it is enough to take away the instinct to survive - the thing we are literally born to do.
i hate this place. but i'm powerless to change it so all i can do is help myself by killing myself

You know how there's that saying that ignorance is bliss? I find that often that is true. As you said yourself, the people who do pay attention and care about these things are the ones who usually suffer the most, so I think most of the population just pretends nothing is wrong on purpose so they can keep their "peaceful" lives (at least they seem to think they're peaceful and happy, don't know about that...). Things are easy to ignore when it's not affecting them directly, and ignorance let's them keep going with their fake fragile routines.

i think it's why so many artists and musicians take their lives. too much insight into the world is a curse

The last time i was happy was as an innocent child, before i knew the horrors of the world. Once i figured out what was going on, it became impossible to be happy. I think that says a lot about humanity.

I think it's probably a good idea to avoid assuming shit like that.

Oh yes definitely. I think that to become a great artist of any kind, someone who can create art that touches people, it's pretty much a pre-requisite that you must have spent a long time feeling and reflecting on human emotions. That's why so many of them did struggle with mental illness, because mentally ill people can't really choose to ignore the parts of society that so called "healthy people" can. They are already analyzing it, and experiencing themselves what so many other ppl prefer not to, so might as well use art as an output, if you have to go through shit anyways.

i think most people are fine with pretending to be happy as long as their personal world remains tolerable. then you have to remember there's the people who actually support and contribute to the horrendous things happening.
