• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Has anyone else here lost a friend or family member to suicide? Did it make you reconsider your own suicidal ideation or did it only make it worse?

since being on here of June 2020, I developed a GREAT kindship with a few that left and it tore my heart completely to pieces.

It did not affect my ctb thoughts because for me it is all about 24/7 chronic pain.

Like usual if and when quality vs quantity of life switches around, then decisions will be made.

I have witnessed suicide once and it was HORRIBLE, if and when for me, it will either be like in a Swiss clinic or way out in the middle of nowhere, as I do NOT EVER want to traumatize anyone else EVER.

Sunshine and hugs to all here!!

Walter

I did, and oddly enough he was a member here, we met at a rehabilitation center for youths with an addiction problem who made attempts to end their life, he introduced me to this space and told me the kind of discussions that go down. He finally made the big step a month back. Now to answer your question I'd say it depends on the personality of the person who lost someone in question and the gravity of the relationship they shared with the deceased. As for me in particular David (that was his name not sure I'm meant to share that but he wouldn't have minded cause that was just who he was a care free spirit but as per guideline if I'm not if i am meant to but forgive me it's just for conversation sake) was really a ray of sunshine just in the wrong planet or surface or whatever it is we are in. If this was diablo this would be inferno IX a total shit storm. We always spoke about doing it together but he was more of a genius than me, and I can't even begin to explain how complex his mind was. He wasn't the type of guy to think about time and place or if being afraid should hold him back, all he knew was that when the time is right the time is write there's no saying goodbye or contemplating nothing, and that taught me living your life perfectly everyday eliminates the need to say goodbye or tie loose ends up, cause your everyday already reflects that. So if at all his transcendence (that's what i call it cause to me he's not dead he's gone to a higher tier like in diablo) was well lived and he leveled up to a higher plain and is probably looking at me right now with a little smirk cause i hate to punctuate (i always say punctuations are for sissy's but he argued it makes things more understandable without having to come back and explain lol) so yeah I've always know i would probably (most definitely) be heading down that same road too but not because he did it, only because i actually feel how he felt too. When it's time to clock out, it's time to clock out, would i say it made me sad probably a little bit cause I'm human still but i found myself smiling more than crying so like i said it depends on both parties and how they both think and i know that doesn't apply to everyone. Forgive my lack of proper punctuations i still feel they are for sissy's lol either understand it or don't lol just kidding but yeah that's that

I have. The first time was when I was about 11 or 12 years old, it was my best friends dad. I grew up with him as a close mentor and second father figure to me, and he hung himself in their front yard one morning without notice; his two sons (same age as me) found his body hanging from their tree.

It affected all of us very heavily, obviously my experience is nothing compared to those kids in that moment, but I had to face very early on the realities and power of suicide. I also realized very quickly how fast people forgot the dead. Years later now its like the guy never existed, only coming to surface in my own ideations and thoughts.
