2026 might be a good year for me, and this might be easier than I thought. My doctor's office has been calling me hysterically today, saying I need to go to the emergency room because something was horribly wrong with my blood test today. So I'm just gonna wait and see what happens. I'm older and was hoping to run out of gas sooner rather than later. I'm glad I have the funeral and cremation plans all set and paid for. This would almost be too easy.

Doctors are funny sometimes.

One time I got a call a few days after a Doctor visit and they seemed worried because they said my potassium was really high. I don't really eat much that contains potassium, though, so I didn't understand how that could happen. They wanted me to immediately come back for a repeat blood test. I was there in a couple of days... it was over a week before I heard back from them and only then because *I* called and they said my second test was fine.

For what it's worth, one of the medications I was on had the possible side effect of false-positives on too much potassium.

I just found it weird they were super worried and then never mind.

Same thing happened a couple of years later regarding diabetes. They were frantic about "you might have diabetes" and I was like how did I go from no problem to "you have serious diabetes" in 6 months since my last checkup? They did a follow-up blood test... and a week later called back and said "it's fine."

WTF doctors?!

I hope everything will be smooth and painless even if something is wrong.

Well this is disappointing. I got the test results online and it's just super high potassium, like @Dejected 55
It's probably because they mangled both arms trying to get blood out of me. I've read that can cause falsely high readings. I didn't think they got enough blood for any tests because they told me it was a "failure" and to come in some other time to try again later. The whole healthcare system is so screwed up. At least I updated my info for my wife for everything she'll need when I'm gone. I was peacefully thinking how much better things will be for my wife and adult kids. They would help each other out, learn to get by on their own. Natural death nice and clean. But... dammit. It was just so exciting to hear the phone message say "you need to go to the emergency room". 🫤
