Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Failed hanging a laughable amount of times

18643 Long story short my previous item I was using for hanging (a dressing gown robe) snapped. I know I should really just get a proper sturdy rope at some point.

Out of desperation I'm planning on using this instead. It's technically a belt but made out of a different material. (I know many belts snap so I'm not using a belt)

I'm just wondering if people think this should be able to support me for FSH. Everything I have used prior has either snapped or the knot I tied broke under pressure.

Instead of tying a knot with this I would simply just put it around my anchor point, push the clip in and hang.

Thanks in advance sasu.

If I get enough responses either today or tomorrow will be my CTB day.

Loop it over something and see if it holds your weight.
The stitching or buckle are the weak points.
Test it.

The webbing itself is probably strong enough. However, I agree with @Worndown, the buckle is a weak point. I wouldn't trust it. (Edit: I'd be careful. If you decide to use it, make sure to test the buckle thoroughly, by pulling and yanking on it with your full body weight.) Using the strap without the buckle probably isn't an option, because it'd be too short for tying knots.

Your intuition is right. You should get a proper rope. They aren't expensive, and they're available everywhere, both online and offline.

I see you post a lot on hanging posts. Can you find mine and tell me if the ropes I have pictured are sufficient for FSH and if you'd prefer one over the other.

I see you have a lot of knowledge about FSH based on your post history. Do you mind looking at my post and telling me if these ropes are sufficient and if you'd prefer one over the other?
