i personally believe in reincarnation (which at first i really only believed in heaven&hell but i couldn't entirely get behind things within the Bible n that are taught amongst Christianity so i backed away from that & im now looking more into buddhism)

anyway, i dont think everyone will reincarnate but instead that whatever someone believes in will most likely happen to them when they die

what do u think?

I grew up Catholic, so I used to believe like that. I'd like to think we reincarnate, the concept is very interesting to me. However, a big part of me thinks it's just nothing. But, I'm kinda keeping an open mind about it, whatever happens happens.

Don't believe in reincarnation as it is described by religious movements, but I did have some experiences highly suggestive of death not being the end, unless eternal oblivion is what you truly desire.

Sounds very interesting. Are you willing to expand on this? Lately I've been starting to think death may not be the end either.

I guess my take could be considered reincarnation, but from a more scientific standpoint.

I've always held this belief that all life is energy, and I think that belief is valid. All of our thoughts, emotions, the signals that come from our brains to our organs to tell them to do their job, are all electrical signals, which is a form of energy. The first Law of Thermodynamics states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but only transferred/transformed. Using that logic, I've always held this belief that our lives, from a consciousness/experienced perspective, ends, but that energy goes through the energy cycle and we come back in a new life.

So, I guess that is reincarnation, albeit an incredibly convoluted stance lol.

Yes, and I personally would be willing to try my best chances next life. The current one, however, is pretty much done and it wasn't fair to me (I really had the best ideas, but my loser parents curb-stomped all my paths to success).

I cant imagine my view going just...black. I'm sure when we die we just open our eye at another place, another time. i also think that since the universe is infinite, it doesnt have to be Earth. Also we could be animals, insects, or whatever.

understandable!

yeahh i see a lot of people talk about reincarnating into an animal although i dont think of it as that i think of it as literally having a new life as a new human.

but hey, i hope your new life as a cat or any other animal will be peaceful

thats also what i like to think!! people always say "i wanna go back to what it was before i was born" but how do you know what it was like before you were born?? surely it couldnt have been pure darkness.

yes! + i also kind of believe in spirits or souls being able to roam the earth so like say u die in a blunt way, maybe your soul is still searching to leave.

but not everyone believes in ghosts or spirits & i understsnd why.

but yeah, i definitely think whatever you believe in will happen to you more likely than not

i often entertain the idea that the same consciousness could arise again after death in another body. you wouldn't have any memory of your past life or anything, you'd just be aware again but in a different body (as any sentient creature, not necessarily a human being). i'm on the fence about this though. i can't say i fully believe in it, but then again i don't see why it wouldn't be possible.

i do wish i could choose who and what i'd reincarnate as though…and if i reincarnate at all lol.

I definitely believe in reincarnation. I believe our spirit/soul/consciousness (whatever you choose to call it) is just energy that is housed in a casing (our bodies) for this lifetime. Everything in the universe is made of energy...and so are we, and universal energy never dies. The energy never goes anywhere, it's never created or destroyed, it's just repurposed. I think that we just regenerate a new body to house the same energy once our current body dies and I feel that we have done so many, many times.

We also attract new energy from the universal energy field and release old energy over these different lifetimes depending on our thoughts and actions. I believe that this is what affects the way our next lifetimes will be. Like whatever energy you are holding when you die (whether mostly positive or negative or a mixture of both) will determine the type of life you will have during your next incarnation.

There are so many stories of young kids remembering their previous life and recalling details of those lives. Then when researched, those details checked out. Like names, places they lived, the way they died, etc. and these kids have no way of knowing this stuff because they are usually really young and they usually start to forget most of the details as they get older.

I'm unsure about most things when it comes to life, the universe, and our origins, but reincarnation is something that I have always believed in, even when I was in catholic school when I was younger. It's what makes the most sense to me.

I think at this point I would like to believe in reincarnation which honestly is crazy for me and not anything I thought I would ever believe. I think it would be interesting to have another chance in the sense I would hopefully be reincarnated into a human. As for this life I am disabled and honestly I long for a life that I am not trapped within my own body, even if I would not remember a time where I was trapped so.

I'm going keep this in the back of my mind when I die so I can escape if it's true. What do you think lies beyond this prison planet? And how big is this prison planet in comparison to...everything else out there?

Maybe this is disguised SI but I worry a lot about the Christian hell. I know I've lived badly. I made a sport of being spiritually bad while too cowardly for outward crimes. I know it's probably bogus brainwashing--Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark, etc. There are probably no miracles or divinely written books. It is all pretty silly when you think about it. But the Catholic psychology of free will, sin, grace, repentance, it all makes intuitive sense to me. I don't know why I've been grazing on this content for 15 years. It's either God's mercy or my deepening mental illness.

Easier said than done lol

I think another dimension lies beyond all of this. We were supposed to be more than decaying flesh, but we were stripped of our spiritual abilities by superior entities, the same way humans are raising cattle they are raising us and harvesting our spiritual energy (loosh)

As for your last question i have no idea, but probably what we know about our reality is only a fraction of what the actual reality is.

If you've repented and your repentance was genuine, I don't think you have anything to worry about. It's also not too late to repent as is.

Yeah, but repenting means putting away suicide, making a confession, and living out my days as a believer.

Committing suicide doesn't mean you will automatically be condemned to hell, that's a myth spread by evangelicals. I'm not advocating for you to ctb, but you wouldn't be any less of a believer if you did.

*Puts on Catholic hat*

I think I'm clearly in mortal sin as an apostate obsessed with suicide. Oh, I use porn too. I think my repentance is mere remorse, of which the damned have plenty. The Bible says many will say "Lord, Lord..." but be damned. Christ says that in addition to believing you have to do the will of the Father, i.e. faith + works. If you ruin your soul through a life of sin and kill yourself, fear of hell isn't enough to save you. Not by a long shot. It would be self deception to say that I really loved God and had perfect contrition as I blew my head off.

I have this weird theory that everyone experiences every life. The good and the bad things. That would be somewhat fair because if I only have this one shot at life and autism completely ruins it ...

Oh, I wasn't aware you're Catholic…your fear makes a lot more sense to me with that in mind. I'd rather not imagine someone doomed but faith can be a pretty powerful thing, and I have faith you'll find a satisfying answer in time.

I used to believe in reincarnation, I still like to think I do, but when I almost died during my last attempt, my brain kept telling me that when I died I'd experience nothing but darkness and numbness, so I'm no longer sure. Thats what SI will do to you.
