Does a partial hanging attempt leave marks on your neck for a long period?

I have a location and I'm ready to die. I'm just worried that it will take a few tries to get everything right and I'm afraid of leaving lesions on my neck that my family will see. Ive been hospitalized for a past attempt so they'd know something was up immediately
