Almost certainly not. Anything newer than about 1980 would be unlikely to do the job. Both the catalytic converters and, more recently, the technological improvements in fuel delivery (for more complete combustion) make the exhaust effectively non-fatal.
Few decades ago cars emissions had 30 000ppm (=3%) of Carbon Monoxide. Now with catalytic converters it's close to none unless there is something wrong with it or the car is cold. But small portable generators emission air has 70000ppm (=7%) CO in it. They haven't installed converters to those yet. In few years they will install them to generators too.
Remember there is always other way unless you have terminal disease. I just read in news that some people don't know it and they should be told that. You know things will always go for the better or worse.
