Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I do. One is to compare and more specifically in a pain olympics type of way. I've noticed it with friends and people here. I both hate the phrase: 'at least' but then- I also find myself using it. Both in my head and out loud. 'At least you have this going for you. At least you don't have that to deal with'. How can something infuriate you and yet- you can find yourself doing it to others?

I suppose it's hypocritical really. Lazy probably too. Like a kind of stock answer for something- try to get them to look on the bright side.

The other one I've noticed both myself but mostly a friend doing is trying to paint something in a more positive light. Often with totally unrealistic statements. My Dad once told me I could do anything I wanted in life. Become an astonaut even. Which is ridiculous! Very few of us get to pursue any dream we have. Not that I wanted to be an astronaut in the first place! But, we are all limited by our abilities, our finances, our health.

It's almost insulting when you hear crap like that. It might even be more prefarable to just hear the truth- that they can't cope with our problems/ situation at that point. Rather than to come out with some insane insistance that everything is possible as an actual solution.

I wonder why it happens though. I noticed once at work, one colleague used to try to manage everyone- she'd notice if someone was late back from a break for instance. She wasn't a Supervisor or anything but, she'd always be on at people about something. I noticed that she then genuinely would be late too sometimes and, people would also pick up on that. So, I suppose it was retaliatory in both directions. She ended up being dismissed for stealing it was rumoured! Kind of crazy really. She lorded it about so much and then she was actually thieving from the company. Maybe that was her cover.

I think parents do it especially though I've noticed- repeat the parenting style they received. Even if they hated it. I suppose some probably reject it though- if it was too damaging.

Yeah, unfortunately due to disability and poor executive functioning I am a pretty messy guy. I honestly don't care if other people are messy/dirty that much, but because I have a hard time keeping my things tidy that means that a lot of the cleaning falls on my roomies :( I feel bad because I hate to be the guy that never helps out, but I genuinely do not have the capacity. Before my disability was this bad, in my previous housing situations I always hated being the one to vacuum, wipe down counters, take out trash, pick things up, etc, but now I don't do any of that. I do what I can, but I can't even remember the last time I vacuumed or wiped anything down... agh. At the very least I try to keep all of my mess contained to being my mess. So I do put dishes in the dishwasher right away and pick up something if I spill it, clear my shit out of different areas ya know stuff like that. But yeah I'm not at all proactive about actually helping out :p 90% of the time I'm in my room rotting lol

yea !! i think it is like , the things that hurt the most are inside me, so being reminded of them is the worst thing someone else can do (in liek, a casual sense).

im realy sensitive to perceived rejection and i sometimes react really strongly, so it really hurts to see .. other strong reactions. and it can sometimes create a loop hehe.

Normally I can judge whether a thread posing a random question was born of @Forever Sleep or @noname223 but I was stumped this time!

Hypocrisy is pretty deeply embedded in human nature and I'm no exception.

People generally judge others by what they don't like about themselves or what they are afraid of happening to themselves. And when we judge, its with limited information. The human brain is (in a sense) a machine that runs off of algorithms like cognitive biases. Long ago, our ancestors had to determine IFF (friend or foe).
