Discussion Do you have a safe space in your mind? Is it based on a real space?

My safe space is picturing my Nana's house. She died 36 years ago, when I was 10 so, it's kind of likely I'm not even remembering it that accurately but still, I sometimes like to imagine walking through it, room by room and the garden. She loved flowers.

Are there any places you try to remember or, try to picture when you need comforting? Are they real or imaginary?

i have two, one real one imaginary. one is the theatre where i have performed some shows, or really any theatre. i always feel safe and comfy to picture theatres, but especially the one i am most familar with.

and the other is imaginary, a place from a fanfiction i wrote, the house of a character who would, if i met her, help me and support and take care of me. in the original canon it never shows her house, i just imagined it.

I have a few. Some real, some from TV shows etc., some totally imaginary (but I'm sure based on places I've seen). It's nice to be able to escape there when I need to :) One is a childhood friend's house. I wasn't there a lot, but it seemed like a happy place. I also go through it room by room, and can remember the smells and some of the fabrics.

I maladaptive daydream, so I'm in another world a lot.

mine is recalling an ex girlfriend who no longer talks to me because i feel it morally contrasts all my dark thoughts and aligns more closely to things they want me to think about
