I was once talking with a friend of my Mum's and she quite perceptively pointed out that my Dad seemed to have become bored with my problems. I think it's an understandable phenemenon.

I don't think empathy fatigue is the right word for it. People can still perceive that we're struggling/ suffering. I think 'sympathy fatigue' is more realistic. They become sick of having to be sympathetic so, they start either ignoring it or, getting frustrated one way or another. That we're constantly moaning- for a start or, that we seem unwilling to do things to help ourselves.

To be fair, I've sat on both sides of the fence. I've experienced others get fed up with me and I've fet myself getting fed up with others. Most especially if they've had little patience for my problems prior. Petty really but, I'll be less willing to show them sympathy if they were 'cruel but kind' to me.

I don't think there's really a solution. It's just an unfortunate part of being human.

I find it funny though in a way. My Dad more recently remarked that I don't tend to ring them with problems (when other relations do.) It felt kind of cruel to say: 'It's because you sometimes make me feel worse' but, that's the truth of it. I've become better at making small talk with everyone. What are your experiences?

I don't think they are necessarily bored of it (I mean how can you be bored of me when I suffer from so many different problems hehehe) but that people will get drained from my problems or aren't able to cope with them as they don't know what to do (well ha if they can't handle me at my worst, I handle my worst every day making me stronger than them). Some do however find my thinking of life and death to be boring in finding death to be equal to a okay/happy life.

I just think if people keep hearing the same problem over and over again they get drained by it. There is an expectation of progress, of hitting new things at least. When that doesn't happen, and people can't make progress, yeah, that's when everything starts spiralling down.

My friends once told me my life is sort of like a manga or Anime with different arcs because so much happens all the time. My friends did not sound bored when they called the police to stop me from committing suicide. Lol.

there is no one I could bore with my problems
I have no social contacts
I can only bore myself with my problems
while I slowly and painfully rot away
