Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

On wiki it says

"21% of people receiving assisted suicide in Dignitas do not have a terminal or progressive illness, but rather "weariness of life"

Anyone know anything about this?

If you are young, shoot them an email and they will quickly tell you whether it will be worth pursuing or not.

Also try the others, Pegasos, Exit, maybe a German one now that they lifted the ban on commercial assisted suicides.

Where did you see that on their website ? I couldn't find it anywehere.

Their FAQ still says :
Because the co-operation of a Swiss medical doctor (physician) is absolutely vital in obtaining the required drug, further prerequisites mean that the person must have:

  • a disease which will lead to death (terminal illness), and/or
  • an unendurable incapacitating disability, and/or
  • unbearable and uncontrollable pain.

I see. But I think that just means people who are tired of their non-lethal physical disability or pain.

I think elderly people who are "weary" are potentially helped. Young people will be referred to psyc help.
