Mental health is like Diet Coke. We all know it's bad for us. But we do it anyway, because it fucking feels good. And it feels good to be cared for and loved and to feel like we're doing the right thing.

Life is on track when we can find that which feels good is also that which is healthy and lasts.

Short term feeling good that causes long term feeling bad is just not worth it.

Agree with the second statement. Not sure if that first thing is ever a sustainable possibility. May be that that which is healthy and lasts always a) is impossible or b) comes with a price much greater than what it is worth. Don't know if that kind of on-trackness is actually a human possibility (anymore? or ever?)
