I don't really take care of my teeth. Depression.

I only brush once daily, if at all I do, and don't do a very thorough job of that too. It's been like this for years, even when I was in school and actually interacted with people outside my house. Every now and then, my teeth would hurt, and I would take a painkiller, brush and rinse with salt water. That would help get rid of the pain, and I would eventually forget about it. These pains came back a lot during the last years especially after I became diabetic. But my usual solutions worked well still, so I didn't take anything seriously. I still consumed copious amounts of sugar, rarely brushed, etc.

I was eating raw noodles a week ago, and suddenly felt excruciating pain. I guessed I had chipped a tooth. Took a paracetamol as usual, rinsed with salt water, still ate dessert that night because literally nothing makes me happy like sugar does. I know, slow suicide, but I am going to die soon anyway. That night the pain resurfaced. Paracetamol didn't help. Neither did the rinse. I couldn't sleep because the pain shot up bad when I was laying down but somehow it reduced massively when sitting down or walking around, except I was sleep-deprived so I could not afford to miss sleep. ChatGPT says this was because of inflammation. I was howling for help at 3 am.

My parents took me to the doctor for a painkiller injection. This really did help. The pain resurfaced a bit but I braved it to sleep. And the 3-4 hours of sleep I got helped massively. I woke up to no pain. I got my delayed period the next day, and the pain went away. Apparently dental issues can take longer to leave if they coincide during your cycle.

I actually, properly looked into my mouth that night. For the first time in years. Yep, my third molar looked...broken? And it had that black stuff. I have no idea how long it had been like that. If the molar had already been chipped or broken like that. If it's a wisdom tooth or something. I am stupid and cannot care for my own health. What can I say?

There is a clinic that offers economical medical services near my house. My parents have been asking me to get treated there. I don't see the point because I am going to be gone by the end of the month. Of course, they don't know that.

Anyway, my problem is I still get pain every now and then. Comes and goes. Been having a paracetamol a day, without the knowledge of my parents; my rule is I take a paracetamol when the pain lasts for more than 1 hour. I notice it gets worse when I go out in the cold, which is horrible because I need to take a walk for whatever little happiness my brain grants me. I am running out of paracetamol though, and will have to ask my parents to buy me more. Ugh. Not looking forward to that conversation.

Just keep me in your thoughts. Please.

Not only are you in my thoughts and prayers, but please rethink about getting the tooth/teeth looked at.

I, like so many others, have had dental problems and pain and it is the worst, especially when one is trying to get some sleep.

You are a good friend here and I wish and hope that you get the pain taken care of and hugs and well wishes to you.

I've read a lot of wild stuff on this site, but this takes the cake.
