Discussion Decembar makes me feel so bad and lonelly, is anyone else feel the same?

Very much so. The lack of friends and family around this time of year leads to even worse crippling depression. It might be better if I didn't have to hear or see other people who are surrounded by one of the things I desire the most.

Yes, every holiday is just a bleak reminder of how alone I am and how alone I always have been. While everyone else is celebrating and having good times with their friends and significant others, I'm just stuck in my room alone in front of my computer seeing my life slowly pass by one holiday by another.

December is crap. Its all to make people buy shit they do not need. Also to pretend people are "families " while the rest of the year they all hypocrite and dont even talk to each other. December is just a business like no other. Just that people dont see it. Its also a way to do psychological damage to people by making them feel unwanted or lonely. I wish we could erase those stupid traditions once and for all. The hypocrite month i call it

Strangely, I feel more depressed/suicidal the rest of the year. Not by much though. My family and friends work pretty much year round with little to no break, and I'm an online-college pseudo-NEET. So I'm alone with my thoughts and schoolwork for most days.

Christmastime is really the only time I actually sit down with family/friends and am able to talk with them, but because I'm alone for so long I feel very detached from them, as if I barely know them at all. I'm also just lazy with no purpose or drive for life, so I'm very boring to be around, so family/friends don't really stick to engaging with me much.

Me too, dark and dreary rainy Pacific Northwest winters getting more and more difficult each year. A few friends, and no family nearby and living alone doesn't help.

It's a punishing effort to pretend to have an elevated mood simply because our immediate society pantomimes such a charade. It's also alienating to see everyone else believing each others' lies. Best wishes for the holidays, hope you can ignore it as much as possible. Objectively, it's just the world going 'round and 'round.

So, we have each other for fucking holidays.. I love u all. We have different life, but our feelings are the same. And this connecting us. I feel free to text here whatever I want and i know someone will understand me.

This time of year is so goddamn exhausting. The month is so stressful, and by the time it's actually time to celebrate the holidays, my body has decayed. Most years, I end up getting sick right around Christmas time. Along with that, I feel so utterly disconnected from my family. Each passing year, the chasm between myself and my relatives grows wider. I feel out of place, and I wonder why I was ever born. This has been a miserable time for me for a long time, and it resurfaces so many bad memories.

There was a time it did, but having spent close to 10 Christmases and New Years alone it kinda fades with time. I won't say it gets better, it just generally ceases to be important or have any value attached to it anymore.
