Discussion Coming back as a ghost

What do you think about coming back as a ghost. I basically watch movies all day in my regular life so it would be kind of like that being a ghost. You could be basically invisible like I want to be, you could sneak around where other people couldn't. Just an observer, a fly on the wall. You cannot be hurt. And maybe you even have some minor ghost powers.

I have heard that you only come back as a ghost though if you have unfinished business. I guess I have "unfinished business" but I am totally content with leaving it behind because my goals of a peaceful utopia where everyone sings kumbaya and I am always happy are unrealistic.

I wouldn't wanna come back as a ghost because I'd be permanently stuck in this life and still have all the bad memories.
But if that happens...
I'm going to scare the sh*t out of people who gave me these traumas and nightmares.

Can ghosts fly on a plane for a holiday. What happens at customs when they have to show a passport with photo?

Just something to think about:

I learned a few years ago that my mother grew up in a haunted home where the previous owner died of suicide in that house. Funny thing is my grandmother died of cerebral hemorrhage when she was 8 month pregnant while they were living there. My mother high tailed it out of there right after she graduated from high school and never looked back. Now that same haunted house she grew up in has been demolished....

I don't want to be a ghost. The worst things:

• There is no escape. How does a ghost kill itself?
• Imagine if you were a ghost and people couldn't see or hear you. You have to just watch them and possibly see your old partner(s) being with someone else, all that kind of shit, without being able to say or do anything
• It would become extremely dull if you were a ghost that had to always haunt the same place

I wouldn't come back. I find life/earth dull even when I'm fully able to interact with everything. I can't think of anything more boring than just watching people go about their daily business.

I think it would be interesting, however, coming back because of unifiniahed business would be hard, since nobody would really know I was there. Even with powers, I'm sure people would be too freaked out to bother helping me out.

Nonetheless, observing humanity is oddly fun. Our species' stupidity amuses me (including my own), and it would be funny to watch through the years as we completely deteriorate.

Ngl i would be so happy if I came back as a ghost. I would still kinda be myself but spookier. Maybe I could be some sort of ghost story kids tell at sleepovers. Or I could haunt someone's house and make the property value go down (haha). And I wouldn't have to worry about things like school or getting a job.l because I don't need to do things like pay taxes or go to college if im dead. I could just wonder the earth and do whatever I want because nobody can see me meaning nobody could harm me.

I could go out at night and explore and see the stars. I think that that would be fun. Being a ghost and messing around with kids in the park or watching over my friends and making sure they are safe. Maybe I would talk to them in their dreams and tell them that I'm okay and im happier being dead. I would probably mess around with people that I don't like. I would just stand in the corner of their room as their sleep paralysis demon. Ngl that sounds so funny. I'm just imaging myself standing in a dark corner I'm of the room of someone I don't like and saying something like, "Do remember how much of an asshole u were? Well now I'm dead so suck my balls."

I feel like my life as a ghost would be way more fulfilling that a life as a normal person.

i believe we become ghosts when we die, so I keep trying to find the perfect outfit to wear for when I go, that being said, I don't think we'll have any super special powers, but I think we'll still be able to wander around like we do irl and maybe go through things as we'll be basically invisible

IKR! My favorite thought about being a ghost is becoming some kids imaginary friend. I was a lonely kid and I had several imaginary friend I would talk too. It brings me so much comfort to think that I would help another child feel less lonely by being their imaginary friend.

Yeah! I didn't have any imaginary friends (potentially because of aphantasia? It makes it harder to imagine things. IDK), but I would love to be able to comfort lonely children. Treat them kindly and gently, be someone to talk to, bring them comfort. That's really one of the reasons I haven't CTB, I think. I like bringing people small pieces of joy.

Maybe imaginary friends are ghosts. It's a nice thought.

I've always wanted to do Urbex (Urban Exploration of abandoned buildings.) I think that would be good as a ghost. I'd love to explore nature. Especially under the ocean. I wonder if there would be limits on where you could go though. Seems like ghosts often end up haunting where they died. That sounds more dull. I suppose there is a person I'd be tempted to haunt but- that would involve seeing them again and I'd much rather not.

Ok but how do you know this is true, and what part of us exactly survives to know that we've died and have become a "ghost".

Probably our soul knows, maybe it doesn't know for some people. I can't say everyone becomes a ghost, but I'm only going based off of haunted places and peoples experiences with them, and I'm not saying I'm necessarily right or wrong, but I do believe in ghosts and that some may just kinda lurk about

Although we don't have souls at all, there's nothing to even suggest that a part of us is immortal and will live forever on, you mean to tell me that people from 150-1800 years ago are still around lurking and aware of the modern day as it is but are unable to interact with, stuck in time as invisible beings. Ok you say you can't say everyone become a ghost but asked you how do you know it's true that there is anything pointing to the existence of such things in the first place.

You mean to tell me that Oda Nobunagas ghost may be lurking around the grounds of what was once Honno-ji where he died 441 years ago?

Or that the tens of thousands of men who died at Sekigahara in 1600 are all just left there trapped in space time after dying in battle, just lurking there?

Perhaps, they could still be lurking there, I won't know what it's like in the afterlife till I get there. But I believe we, at least some people become ghosts. Why do you believe that, there's absolutely nothing to suggest that once we die, we continue to exist in any sort of way except through the memories of those who knew us and that is it.

To even suggest that those two examples of people who died 100s of years ago are still roaming around in the places they died is just absurd.

If it is a belief to you then I'll leave it at that then, people believe we become reincarnated and suffer bad karma weve accumulated from other lives weve lived or that we become "one of the God consciousness" we came from, this is just another one of them.

If you're told that a house is haunted and you visit it in the dark, you're primed to feel anxious as you walk around and you'll probably feel or see something weird in your state of heightened awareness. Not a ghost, but you'll assume it is.

Being a ghost wouldn't be bad if it was a short term thing. Spend a few days here before you go to paradise. Just to have some time to haunt loved ones and watch over them.

Do ghosts see, hear, sense the world like humans? They don't have physical eyes, ears, touch to receive and convert sensation. Maybe it's like dreaming and near death experience. But the doctors and nurses don't usually see the ghosts in NDEs. Are ghosts those who don't reach the other end of the tunnel, but whose bodies are already dead?

There must be a window or a wormhole a ghost can jump into and leave that world. As some movies suggest, they might need human experts to help find that exit if they are lost.
