Should I be worried about combustion of co in a car like when I start the car? Also how do I measure the ppm without opening the door and letting co out? And how hot will the car get?

Are you using a generator or exhaust from pipe? Do you have a ppm meter?

Don't have the meter yet. Was planning on charcoal probably. Also how do I do a test run without leaving co in the enclosed space?

Um I can't see a way that you can.... The thing is charcoal releases c0 more slowly than a geneRator does. It will do the job but it will take longer........ Ideally, this method would seem to work best if you are able to fall asleep for a while. Like maybe stay up for a day so you will be tired or right before bed. HEre is a story I found.

I can say that if person would create 1% CO with generator there is no heat problem. There are meters with extension pipe to leave between door or those that can be left inside and you get the reading to outside to your phone with app or you get the thing needed to see the reading. After test one should open the doors and leave the air out. So holding breath would be wise then and staying away. But if one didn't want to hear the sound of constant alarm from the meter (which many do above 200ppm) they could start the gen and leave it on 20 min or something and put the meter inside holding breath and taking it off after 15 seconds.
