Would I get away with two disposable barbecues placed on the back seats which will be down and me say in the front ? May may not be a partner to share - will the heat be too much or is it better to buy a coal starter kit then transfer them to a tin bucket once smoke has died down ?

I think option B is better, you wait for the smoke to go out before bringing the buckets in.

Don't forget to reduce the ventilation in the car as much as possible.

Precisely. Learned the hard way that even small spaces can still be too well ventilated unless you seal them up as tight as you can.
