I remember years ago, maybe it was a dateline episode or some random movie, there was this guy that drove his car out to a park and he attached a pipe to the exhaust pipe of his car. He then put it through a window and locked the doors and rolled the opposite window up (if I can recall correctly. It was years ago) and he suffocated. I was thinking maybe I could do that. I would just need to find a pipe long enough somewhere but the hardest put would be find time to do it. What do y'all think? Would it be painful?

I think you go unconscious from CM and then die after a while from suffocation. In the past when houses had old school heating units many people died in their sleep from CM poisoning.

So it's painless?

Catalytic converter ruins everything. It is a part attached to the exhaust that basically removed 98% of the carbon monoxide from the exhaust. You either need to have access to a car without one or be willing to remove yours from your exhaust (which is illegal). So the traditional death from car exhaust method is not viable anymore.

I came here to say the same thing. In the modern era this isn't a viable option anymore. Neither is putting your head in an oven, once again, due to modern safeguards.

A quick Google search shows you should be good? I think they started putting them on in the mid 70s? I would research on your own to confirm. If you are nimble, you could just shimmy under and look for one.

Ooh, nice. My favourite car as a boy - I still own my little collection of die-cast models of Beetles.

In that case I believe you are actually good to go.

Yeah, i think so. Getting sleepy by it might cause panic but it should be over quickly. A neighbors son did it a while ago and they said he just sat there like he was just sleeping.
