Does anyone get these nights where you cannot sleep at all? So irritated that I cannot sleep at the moment due to thinking things in my head that doesn't seem to go away

Yup. Tonight is one of those nights. I'm tired but I can't shut my mind off.

Years ago I had such bad insomnia and wanted (and tried) to sleep at night and get myself on a "normal schedule", but it never really worked so I was constantly sleep deprived. Now, I still have sleep issues - nightmares, waking literally every half and hour to an hour, not getting into a deep, restful, restorative sleep - but my anxiety is SO much worse now than even 10 years ago that it's gotten where I feel more relaxed and calm at night and so I stay up all night just so I can have the quiet and peace. But then it affects my life negatively because I struggle during the day, feel even worse than I would normally due to lack of sleep. I just can't get it together and 'be normal' in terms of sleeping. And anyway like I said, my sleep quality is crap no matter when I'd sleep.... I'd give anything for even just a week of sleeping 8 hours straight through a night and functioning like even a halfway normal person. Oh well
