PSA because I'm not encouraging anyone to use drugs.
A lot of the following is anecdotal. me personally would say its not worth it and i don't recommend due to the bad possibilities that can happen. It is really not good to take regularly in a recreational/high dose way, and I think people do it because they dont have alternatives maybe. And if anything, people say its best only done once/very very infrequently.

I've heard the sedation affect is stronger when taking lower doses, and the activation is stronger at higher doses. Very high doses can produce psychedelic or hallucination effects. however they are more hallucinations of delirium/confusion and not often pleasant hallucinations. Personally I've never known or heard anyone to have a good "high"/hallucinations taking it at large doses, and can be very very scary.

It might be you try it, and just fall asleep. But it has physical affects like sedation, body high, sensory differences/hallucinations. Auditory effects like distortion or hallucination. Cognitive affects in slowness, or feelings which could be euphoria, or dysphoria which is another bad thing, it is a anti-depressant so you may feel flat or your emotions are suppressed. And visual effects, like loss of clarity, haze, color change and shift, and in very high doses hallucinations with geometry and shapes and colours. And then some different hallucinations at high doses in imagination when falling asleep. *oh though even though its used to treat insomnia often, high doses can cause restless legs making it hard to go to sleep

there are also physical feelings of dizziness, dry mouth, difficulty swallowing, hard time using the restroom.

Taking regularly beyond prescription dose can also cause dependence/abuse, and then withdrawals too. And do not combine it with other drugs like anti depressants.
