Don't you find it kinda narcissistic that people only want to use other people's birthdays as an excuse to go out to eat?

I mean, some people literally don't want to celebrate their birthdays because they doesn't bring happy memories.

Everytime family / friends hear this they are always shocked and try to convince you out of it.

I've always been fascinated by this. If its really that person's birthday, shouldn't that person's wishes be respected if they dont want to celebrate it?

I see what you mean. I've never thought much about it in the past, but humanity is filled with narcissistic pigs. It saddens me knowing that people could be this insensitive and not see providing love and support as top priority, it's really sickening knowing they're supposed to be your "friends"

They're probably just looking for occassion to unwind and (maybe free) booze. Needless to say, the wishes of the birthday person should aways be respected.
