Ativan to prevent convulsions while hanging

I know that Ativan is the benzo of choice when treating seizures. Do it's anti-convulsant properties make it ideal for taking a few hours before a partial hanging? Has anyone ever heard of using it, or any benzo, as a means of sedating the body and trying to prevent it from thrashing around during death?
