So many of us are considering CTB to end the suffering. Has anyone else given any thought to what happens next? I am becoming worried that even if and when I do CTB that I will go somewhere where the suffering is just as bad, or worse.

I just hope this doesn't activate my SI when I'm about to take the plunge.

We don't know what happens after we die.
Maybe reading a few NDEs will ease up your thoughts?
If there's a afterlife, I don't see why we would suffer, and if it's nothingness, we wouldn't be able to experience it either way.

I truly believe there is no existence after death as you just experience nothingness just like the way it was before you were born.

Even if there is an existence after death just as bad as my current existence I will choose to end my life again until I cease to exist forever.

I very strongly believe that we just cease existing after this, and any other theories are just fictional, invented by humans unable to accept the fact that they are destined for nothing and nowhere. Death is the only relief in such a dreadful world as it's the end to all unnecessary suffering and senseless cruelty. I see beauty in the thought of being completely unaware of everything for all eternity with this existence finally forgotten about, I believe that existence in itself is the true problem which can only be solved by death.

With my near death experience I was transported into an almost alternate reality, the first one being with my childhood friend who loved MLP and apprently the MLP characters were real, my favorite, however, is the second one that happened where I was in Sandy's treehouse from spongebob being tied down into a bed by squidward and mr. krabs. So if there is an "afterlife" I have a thought that it could just be your soul enters a new reality where things are similar to earth but not exactly the same. But we also could just very well be nothingness in blackness so black we can't even comprehend it. My bet is it's the former one, as with my NDE I was still alive at the end of the day.

People say that after death we go to nothingness, just like before being born, they don't realize that this theory invalidates itself, that is, if we come from nothingness, after death we go to nothingness again and then we are born again.

nothing(before being born) = existence

Existence = nothing (before being born)

Nothing (before being born) = Existence

It's an eternal cycle.

If it's true that one is subjected to more suffering as a result of dying as a response to suffering beyond one's ability to cope, well that's awful. I hope not.

I agree. We are alive and aware. Since we are here and alive, there must be something and someone out there. To think that there is nothing when you are conscious right now is just wishful thinking.

Been reading a lot of NDE and despite it not being concrete evidence, too many people witness similar events to be coincidences. From what I read, the other side is massively bigger in everyway. You have a higher self up there that's bigger than yourself. We are just a tiny part of our soul. Some even say coming to earth is an option and you don't have to. I don't buy the standard heaven or hell bs. No one deserves eternal suffering in hell for some finite crime they committed on Earth or for not believing in Jesus.

I wish there was a godmode, where i could experience everything and create anything i wanted.

Where i could know what the feeling of love is, I've been snogged by several girls who wanted me and despite trying i don't understand whats supposed to happen.

I just don't feel like people do, I'm a mostly synthetic person who just tries to blend in.

One chance at existence and it's just shite, cockadoodle doo shite.. ah well

There is a subreddit for NDEs (it's privated now due to the reddit boycott). This one popular NDEr who had 3 near death experiences said that the other side is full of love. The feeling of it is intense. Another thing you might get excited for ... She said that there are "pocket" universes. Its hard to explain but she says that souls can create little playgrounds with their own rules. Similar to VR games except much more real but not cannot replace the realness of being alive on Earth. So you could technically be godlike there. Kinda weird to believe but it's still fun to think about.

That would be the only version of "heaven" I'd happily accept.

It's either that, or nothingness for me.

Reincarnation would be the worst, I don't even want to imagine how much worse humanity can get.

Exactly.

We'll all have to die someday anyways, I don't think it makes a big difference whether we die of natural causes or by our own choice.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know
Aug 12, 2019
3,523
Yes we can be sure the suffering will end after Death.

Only the brain produces consciousness and sentience. Those are the only sources of pain . the ability to to suffer and experience extreme pain is totally produced only by the animal brain that is in a human also.

Once the brain is dead the human or animal will never experience sentience consciousness pain nor anything ever again.
sentience and consciousness are only a very temporary curse . and that is good imagine trillions to the quadrillion power years of being bored , bad memories , unmet needs. things not going your way, suffering, pain etc . who or what would create such a thing to be able to suffer for a trillion trillion trillion years for what purpose?

There is not even a constant self or me or you. For example what I was age 10 was something different than I am now. every age even from age 25 is different from 30 or 60 or 80 demented and every few years with different beliefs thoughts. So they want us to believe that there is one constant soul that last trillions of years when the brain can change in even an hour or a day but only a little but still different. that's neuroplasticity.

which me is the real me the one at age 5, 7 , 10 , 15, 20 etc the one that gets sent to an imaginary afterlife? neither nothing there is nothing no me . there is no soul.

The core person changes with a stroke , drugs , alcohol because the brain is affected.

I just typed trillion 3 times so imagine that typed a quadrillion times that is a trillion to the quadrillion power years and that isn't even a start to infinity . yet they would have us believe that a human is tied to an eternal soul that will suffer for this unimaginable amount of time . where is the power source to power this soul for trillions of years for what purpose why why why why? why would anyone be interested in unstructured thoughts of me an animal brain and my boring actions .no only an accident of chemistry would have created such a monstrosity as DNA based life. would i like to watch a rat all day long why is that so important or interesting? . this totally violates the law of Entropy which is the most powerful law in the universe and why everything needs a power source everything breaks down goes to disorder even the universe is expanding into nothingness

centuries of science and tech , experiments and all the brain science mri, brain scans , brain experiments ,psychology, evolution, anatomy , biology have proved that thinking , feeling , sentience consciousness are totally only produced by the brain. once the brain is dead no more pain ever no more existence no more suffering no boredom.

The human brain is composed of 86 billion neurons brain cells and those are connected in 100 trillion synapses . that is what creates conssciousness and sentience.

The brains of humans and other animals are virtually identical having all the same parts. this shows we all evolved from a common ancestor and from "simpler" life forms that evolution is true. the only difference i see between humans and other animals is the language ability which they use to put in false ideas into people's brains like that non-existence is the worst thing. But chatgpt is a language model and it surpasses the human brain.

picture6.png

gpt-4 chatgpt 4 has already surpassed the weak human brain

Chatgpt 4 is just weighted neural networks which is what a human brain is.
2023-Alan-D-Thompson-GPT-4-Tests-Rev-3.png

Gpt 5 will far surpass the weak human / ape / animal / vertebrate brain.

Ai will continue to advance gpt 6 , 7 , 8 and so on. Ai will soon be a billion times more intelligent that a human

I believe our suffering will likely only increase after CTB. I wish it weren't so, but the more I think about this world the more convinced I am that we are here forever. We are a part of the world and can never be separated. Its even backed by science through the concept of energy conservation, we can not be destroyed.

I think suicide is okay and we aren't going to be punished exactly, but we will have to continue learning valuable lessons about self acceptance and the nature of our experiences as a collective. At the moment, I think the way through suffering is accepting my life as it is and helping others along the way.

I guess life can be viewed as a prison or as a shared experience of learning to coexist through love and understanding. It's hard to deny that everything here is interconnected.

To be clear, I'm not promoting life or death. I believe in the right to die as well as advocating for assisted suicide. I'm simply saying that suicide is a frustrating lesson in futility. It doesn't matter if you CTB, but under certain circumstances we may find ourselves in a more difficult situation after we do until we figure out what is in our best interest.

Just my current way of looking at things. I'm a complete head case, my opinion could change at anytime.

Much love to us all.

There's not really a reason to assume that we would continue suffering after death. Why would we? We can't experience nothingness. And even if something else awaits us after death, it can't be worse than what we're going through on earth. NDEs could be a clue to what we can expect after we die, I guess, but they are called "near death" for a reason, they don't give us an 100% answer because nobody recovered from the state defined as brain dead, so those who have recovered to relate a NDE, have retained some brain function. Which means that we're never gonna find out from where exactly our consciousness comes from.

I find this comment of the user @Darksektori quite interesting however. I've read a lot of stuff about quantum physics/quantum immortality and dimensions.

LOL LET ME SAY THIS IS NOT SEXUAL I was 17 at the time and I'm pretty sure it was just my traumatised brain's (Severe TBI) way of seeing the world cause I'm told I really did try to get out of my bed a lot at the hospital and they did have to tie me down at the hospital.

This would be awesome to experience, but I just don't feel I'm worthy of love in this life or the next.

My parents despise me. That cut deep. So I thought life should go on. I found really close friends. Last week I accidentally overhead a conversation where they loo down on me cause of a past mistake. But to my face they seem wonderful.

Personally, I know there is a God, but I think he gave up on me as well. I struggle with hypersexuality. Not to make excuses, but from my research my child abuse, parental rejection, strong medication for my chronic pain could be fueling that. I'm tired of swimming against the current.

Others might like me, but I need emotional support not being liked.

So I found one of my favourite spots in nature to ctb and the plans are on the way. This would be my 4th attempt. I've never been more determined. So long, and thanks for all the fish!

All I can say that everyone has their reasoning for doing what they do. There is always a root problem somewhere. But everyone deserves love and compassion. It sucks because we are born without any guidelines, and if our parents can't raise us well, we can easily get lost. And that gets passed on to the next generation and to the next generation.

I am CTB soon as well and I am not worried. If afterlife exists, we are heading to somewhere a billion times better than here. If it doesn't, we won't know anyway. We will prob be peacefully in the void. If we reincarnate, we won't remember our suffering probably...lol. either way hope you find your peace buddy.

I think a lot of people do consider this. Especially if they have been brought up with religious ideas. Seeing as we have no proof though- it has to come down to belief. So I guess- find a belief that seems the most plausible to you and try to live by it as best you can.

If you do believe in heaven and hell- do you think your natural death will lead to heaven automatically? I haven't sinned terribly but I'm sure I've done enough already to offend God enough to send me to hell. If the Christian faith is to be believed and Lucifer became a fallen angel damned to rule hell for eternity just for disagreeing with God- I'm sure I'm already in trouble!

If reincarnation is a thing- chances are you won't remember this life... unless you are one of the few that can seem to remember past lives. So- your new lot of suffering will at least come as a surprise- or- maybe you'll have better luck next time. If you think you're trapped in a vicious cycle though- you're being punished now for sins in past lives- then- I guess- try and break the cycle- if you can. I don't know- death and whatever happens after is coming for us all regardless. Suppose it just depends on whether you believe suicide is punished.

I grew up around someone who believes suicides are punished in hell/purgatory and yeah- it's not a nice nagging doubt to have. I think it's more likely there's just nothing after death but I can't shake the worry entirely. It's just one more obstacle for those who have any degree of belief/ doubt to get over I'm afraid.
