Venting Anyone here partly depressed over being an atheist living in a muslim society?

I was born into an extremely religious family, I memorized most of the quran at a pretty young age, but i become an atheist after finding out what i was indoctrinated with was false, it's a weird feeling only someone who knows it would understand, i am basically an alien around my people, i m forced to always, always put an atc and pretend to be a muslim and do all sorts of things that are expected from a believeing muslim, I am a hypocrite, if i tell a word to my family about my true views on religion, i would get disowned and kicked from the house (at the most optimistic scenario) none of them would ever look at me again, if i starve in front of them they might not even help me unless i role play as a muslim again, it's such a strangling feeling to live amongst a people or in a society that stands against everything you believe in, i really don't expect anyone on here would relate or understand unless they're in the exact same position as I, i hate having to be a full time hypocrite.

I wish more people like you would speak up. Those are the evils of religion; the result of respect and encouragement of irrational beliefs.
I hope you'll find a way out of there. There's a big and fairly secular world outside the islam countries.

What country do you live in exactly? Also are you a woman? Shit must be though but what if you can get a way on a studying visa (I would advice against emigrating illegally)?

From what I understand, due to all the social pressures and in my countries, laws to ensure that their citizens are Muslims, a lot of Muslim countries have non-Muslim citizens, but it's hard to know how many because they have to hide it away just like you do~ :( thankfully, Morocco doesn't literally execute those who left Islam tho~ >_< altho, ofc, I'm still very sorry to hear that you have to struggle with all the things it does do tho such as what is basically social strangulation~ >_< I wish there was a way it could get better for you~ :(
