Discussion Anyone else miss the old sanctioned suicide community?

So many stories and people deleted and forgotten when the subreddit was deleted, it still saddens me.

If I'm being completely honest, I discovered SS from this site and didn't really know that there used to be a subreddit. :o

I found about SanctionedSuicide from wizchan. In my opinion reddit itself is an inferior website and anyone who uses the site is considered an inferior bugman to me, no exceptions.

Between people killing themselves or moving on from a period of suicidality, there's so much turnover here. It's an entirely different community every 5 months or so. I guess it makes sense that over time, if someone sticks around long enough, they'll have "groups" they liked more than others.

This place will probably be erased one day too. Most websites die eventually. I wish more people who think this site is pure evil understood that it's where a lot of people document their last days and say their last words and losing that would be heartbreaking.

I have mostly been a lurker in past on the reddit. Im not going to lie I really miss the group of people that were here late 2018 and when I first joined. Such kind and genuine people who welcomed me to the site. There is turnover here every so often. It's sad to see people come and go...I genuinely hope those I first met are at peace or recovered.

that's true.
This site represents the last form of human communication for many who chose to ctb.
Erasing it would feel almost like driving a bulldozer through a graveyard.
The destruction of something sacred.

Yes me too. Seems so long ago but it really wasn't. When you live in this type of mindset thats is what makes it seem forever ago and another world. Guess its always changing and we'll find out what the future holds as long as we are still here.

I've been here for more than 5 months and I'm still alive. I have made a profile here to ask about quinine as a method (people did not think it was wise to use it), then I got addicted to this forum.

Yes, it's sad what happened to reddit, how they only care about making it advertisement-friendly now. Many great subs were banned or censored because of this.
I also miss 8chan, to me it was more relatable because it was kinda on the "toxic" side - lots of talk about methods, videos, pictures, some gore, even jokes, no politically correct BS.

They do not want to understand, because that would mean going against their own, unfair perspective(s) on suicide; they want control not understanding.
