Your post reminded me of this ted talk I watched a while ago. From the 7 minute mark onward he talks about his suicide by jumping attempt specifically. It is a very moving story.
Not personally, no. Kevin Hines is the most well known survivor of an attempted suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. He describes what happened to him in detail as he now gives talks to people - and other bipolar sufferers offering support. He says he didn't want to die, he just wanted the pain to stop and no one asked if he was ok.
