So today I have been taken off seroquel - (after being taken off olanzapine) after showing my doctors large blisters on my legs - I have apparently had a severe allergic reaction. Thing is I've been complaining of very adverse mental effects for months, but these complaints were always brushed off. But, I had resorted to taking them, if only for a half decent night's sleep. Now my brain is ruined, my legs are covered in blisters and I face extreme insomnia and withdrawal due to the medication being ceased immediately today. I am beyond fucked!
What annoys me is my psychosis could have simply been treated with a course sleeping pills, as sleep deprivation played a big part in my psychotic delusions. All I needed were a few good nights sleep and plenty of rest.
Now even a 7.5 zopiclone has little to no effect due to the ever increasing doses of strong anti psychotics I was reliant on - when not psychotic - on to sleep.

Welcome to the world of modern medicine. I'm really sorry about you, i've met a few people in my life who were fucked up because of antidepressants and antipsychotics. It has to be really tough going thru that.

For me, after going thru a bunch of shit that didn't do anything but make me nauseous, it was the old tricyclic antidepressants which finally brought down my migraine.

Dear god, I was offered Serquel by my psych a few days ago. I've been having major problems with insomnia as well. I'm really glad I denied her- but I'm also incredibly sorry to hear the devistating effects it had on you. I really hope things get better for you.

It's because of these things that antipsychotics scare me, I have a closed box of olanzapine, but I do not think I'll ever open this thing. I hope you get better and get out of this difficult phase.

Olanzapine is alright, it'll only make you fat as it increases your appetite. But seroquel, man, have i heard horror stories about that one.

@GoneWrong - I really sympathize with you and wish that you could find a way, as I did, to taper safely off those wretched drugs!

It's sad to read that you did not even try. Quetiapin helped me a lot, I have no really bad side effects. I can not imagine how bad I was without it.
