Hi,

Any help would be greatly appreciated on the following queries.

I've read Stans SN guide which states 20gm of SN with 50ml water for an average weight person but I've since read people are using 25gm with 50ml for the average weight person. Which is the correct amount to use please? I'm confused if it's since been updated to 25gm in the pph? Any up to date knowledge would be very useful.

I also wondered what exactly the role of benzo was - are the 100% needed? I ask as I have a benzo dependency problem and take large amounts daily but they have no effect, I just have to keep taking them to stop a withdrawal. But I've seen in one guide if I'm right to take 50x10mg diazepam? That's a huge amount. Have I got that right?

Are benzo used purely in this protocol to calm people? ie if I didn't use the correct benzo doseage or used less would I still likely succeed? Are they are simply also to speed up unconsciousness & help with anxiety? Apologies I'm struggling to work out their use exactly in this instance and if they are 100% needed.

I have SN and meto which are the two main things. (I also have benzo but given my issues reluctant to take a massive dose if not needed as if I fail that could be a mess for me).

Have people taking sleeping tablets? I don't see that taked about? Only benzo?

Thanks for any input and help
I've found the answer to my first question - seems like it's 25gm SN.

I was going for the 48 hour prep as well - so meto for 2 days. Is that still something people are doing as opposed to all on the same day?

Now I'm just wondering about the benzo situation and also if I do take them, exactly when to take them? Given my tolerance to benzo I won't fall asleep before the SN. But unsure of timings and if they are needed.

Thanks again for any help

Yeah it's been updated in ppeh to 25g for people under 100kg and 35g for those over it

Benzo are recommended purely to make the process as comfortable as possible (although I think dose mentioned in ppeh is insane),tou start feeling the effects of SN like your heart beating faster, nausea and heavy breathing and that alone rises anxiety, the choice is really up to you

Both antiemetics and benzo are not crucial - it's SN that does the damage, AE are recommend to make sure it actually stays in your system and do the job

I don't think sleeping pills are necessary at all since SN make you unconscious within 10-20 minutes

I would say anti emetics are actually crucial

What I meant is you can cbt without antiemetics, the sole purpose of them is to keep SN in your stomach
they've been cases where people died taking ae with SN but also where people died just drinking SN - I guess it depends on the person

Thank you. Yes, i was confused as SN 'seems' to work fairly quickly but for me benzo / sleeping tablets take a much longer time to take effect. I guess it's just added assurance.
