I don't usually recommend anime because sometimes it depends on the type of anime you like. For example, if you hate isekai, you might not like RE:Zero; if you don't like shonen, Full Metal Alchemist won't be as great for you, etc. But okay, I'll give you 10 recommendations based on shonen, shoujo, isekai, mecha, seinen, etc.

If you like action and/or post-apocalyptic worlds, then I would recommend Fist of the North Star. It is very sad, though.

IDK, my head is filled with edgerunners, still can't move on with that. Maybe Darling in the Franxx or Evangelion, those are my second favourites anyway

Samurai Champloo (I don't know how some people still haven't watched this one at least once, RIP Nujabes)

Serial Experiments Lain (very good, watched in middle school, would avoid all recent online discussion of it + avoid newer chronically online fan base)

Mongolian Chop Squad (haven't watched yet, about a band of some kind)

Mind Game (haven't watched yet, sitting in my watchlist for YEARS)

Summer Wars (childhood favourite, watched several times, very fun and colorful, Digimon parallels)

Revolutionary Girl Utena + The Adolescense of Utena (gay gay homosexual gay queer gay homo, magical girl stuff kinda?, fencing, drama, cryptic, confusing)

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou (haven't watched yet, post apocalyptic setting, cafe setting, robots/androids)

Witch Hunter Robin (was popular years ago, haven't watched it, maybe for those who enjoy Ergo Proxy I assume)
