• Hey Guest,

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

Is this a method? Delirium Tremens untrated mortality rate is 37%. It wouldnt be pretty like SN, but I guess its easier since alcohol is a socially accepted poison.

Definitely not a method. It's kinda like asking if smoking is a method because of lung cancer.

Definitely not a biased answer. Very debilitating call to receive,
DT is very unpleasant and terrifying for the patient. it is VERY likely that you will be dialing EMS before unconsciousness even commences.
It can cause arrhythmias, cardiac arrest, and can take DAYS to cause death. I see it happen firsthand. Seizures, hyperthermia, constant diaphoresis and tachycardia..
Not a good idea.

I think only a small percentage will actually get the DTs. Takes a LOT of drinking to get there, and only a certain percentage of the population are those kinds of alcoholics if I remember my drug program training correctly.

Takes more work than its worth I guess.

OK, we do not recieve calls for DT's very often; However, the training is quite extensive.
In my experience have I only seen it happen rarely.
Majority of the time is it an early-onset of DT, indicative of very minor symptoms (mild altered mental status, tremors, etc.) and can progress into severe DT, and seizures. peak severity reaching around 3-5 days post withdrawal. At this point will you start seeing restlessness, extreme AMS, hallucinations, paranoia, hypertension, tachycardia, diaphoresis and pallor, tachypnea, dehydration and electrolyte imbalances/leading to arrhythmias and eventually cardiac arrest.
Imagine severe panic, confusion, sleep deprivation and discomfort.
Haven't had anyone die on my hands, but it's possible. Stay safe!
