Preparing for ending one's life involves a lot of practical tasks and I don't want to shy away from those questions over which I had to battle my (otherwise rather limited) prudishness.

I realized that because my insufficient knowledge of human biology, I'm not exactly sure how my body will react while dying and right after.

I just want to know how I can avoid dirting myself, beacuse I no only want to die, but also to be found in a dignified manner.

Any advice or information is highly appreciated.

You can't do shit.

On a more serious note, I have no idea.

It can even happen in assisted suicide with N in about 1% cases and they use some one-time sheets just in case. In more amateur methods, it probably gets worse. It's a common thing after death.

It is going to happen no matter what. Death is gross and messy. Why is this? While you are alive, you are constantly holding things in. You have muscles that close off your bladder and rectum. When you die, all of your muscles relax so things are no longer "held in".

When you die, waste will potentially leak out depending on how full you are and the position in which you die.

Some ways to potentially lessen the mess:
  • Fast for 3 days. The average person takes about 72 hours to fully process food from one end to the other. If you want an empty rectum, you need to fast for 2-3 days beforehand.
  • Your body constantly makes urine. There will be pee in your bladder. You can lessen the amount by not drinking water for some time before you attempt (how long is a guess).
Many try to avoid this but the truth is everyone makes a mess when they die.

fast for a day and mix an 4 0z of metamucil with water or juice at night. You will poop some
Do the same when you wake up. You'll know you're cleaned out when your poop is clear
This is the method usec for colooscopies

When we die we lose complete control of our body and our sphincters will relax.

Perhaps the only thing we can do is try to empty our bowels and bladder before making the attempt. So that our corpse is as clean as possible.

Taking a laxative the day before and going to the bathroom first would be a good idea. A light liquid diet or fasting could also be beneficial.

And if we are obsessive, using a pad or diaper, just in case. I was looking at alternatives to diapers and saw that postpartum pads are the perfect length and aren't as bulky. It's another alternative.
