Life is too difficult for me

So a family of 3 people and their pet dog in India was not allowed to bring their pet on-board because the pilot wasn't satisfied with the muzzle and carrier of the dog.

This was after the dog was issued a ticket paid in full and a boarding pass.

The family was looking forward to a vacation but had to miss their flight.

While I understand that pets if they become stressed during travel in cabin area can be difficult to manage just like crying babies, mischievous children or unruly passengers, it was still unprofessional on part of the airline to issue a boarding pass to the dog before checking the carrier and muzzle.

And assuming airlines did check the carrier and muzzle before hand and it was found lacking, where would you run to buy a new cage just an hour before the flight departs ?

Overall, I can't understand what is the solution here. Many people want to travel with pets so they can't be banned from air travel, so how do you safely carry your pet with you on a flight with other passengers?

Anyone had any experience with this sort of thing ?
